First Semester
We, first pioneers, started our of exploration of master life, battles and strike with "Elasticity Mechanics" and "Finite Element" followed hard at heel. Ablaze lights usually shined in a row with our immersing in the research inside the lab. Liu C. M. worked actually hard for burring himself to the piles of books; Chang C. M. got amazing grade in Elasticity Mechanics course; the courses of "High speed parallel calculation" and "Introduction to EP mechanics" also attracted our interest. We were respectful and happy while receiving the electrical precision balance, the first instrument of lab, so as for the coming ANSYS® 5.3 version. By gradually got used to their operation, we thus gained experience and moved forward to our great ambition. At the same time, Liu C. M. was assigned to be our leader. In the storming night of typhoon, we've tried hard to figure out the finite element program; while we're studying the note of high speed caculation that daybreak of first cold current. The first semester was totally a harvesting season for absorbing and digesting as much knowledge as possible. Reminding of Professor Chiang became our lullaby, even freshener beverages became Lin J. D.'s elixir. Though, we're still absorbed in front of computers all the time for the sake of important data or discussion; Liu Z. N. however made great progress in both typing as well. Six of us discussed in a great bustle by the edge of computer screen about our dissertation of PowerPoint. Lin J. D. had determined to figure out the mysterious technique of PowerPoint just because Professor Chiang mocked cruelly of his trifling skill of the program of "painting" and persuade us not to adopt this way any more. It's surely a memorable period: nonlinear material property always gained the more accurate answer easier than the linear one, our first semester passed away during individual studying and friendship associating, as well as for broadening our vision and self awareness. I especially cherish the time of sliding by chair from one corner to another for picking up the phone. In Addition, sometimes you would hear as follows that funny enough: " We're not having a feast for so long, Professor! " , " Do you mean that I can't afford it? " Author Lin J. D.
